A special mention must go to the Anderson family who have 4 family members competing on finals day; three generations of the one family, grandfather David Snr, sons David Jnr and Alan, and grandson Ross! Surely this is a first in our club?!
I have no doubt finals day will be a cracker this year and may the best bowlers win!
A new 1 day internal competition involving teams of 5 players was held at our club on Saturday 29th August 2009. 7 teams took part and the eventual winners were Scott Johnston, Tommy Johnston, James McPake, Kevin Moore and Liam Rowatt. Congratulations to the winners and thanks to the organisers, Jim and Ian.
The annual Past Presidents Trophy was held on Sunday 23rd August 2009 and 14 teams competed for the trophy. The winners were Peter Gardner, Mark McFarlane, Kenny McFarlane Snr and Kenny McFarlane Jnr. The Runners Up were Paul Martin, David Kelvin, Liam Rowatt and David McCluskey. Well done to everyone who took part and we would like to thank our sponsors for the day, Strathclyde Skip Hire.
